Another wonderful day in Pohong! We started our day with another intriguing lecture from Pastor Gary and his wife Holly. I can't express how much I appreciate their honesty and willingness to share about their struggles and hardships they face. It has been such an experience hearing them sing and preach the gospel.
Another exciting part of our day was when we got to visit the orphanage. Mrs.Susan led the class through songs and Bible verses in English. I loved watching her light up while teaching these children. We also taught them one of our VBS songs and ended the class with handing out cookies Mrs.Chinn made. (They were delicious!)
Although I enjoyed my time with these children, I couldn't help but be sad about their situation. These children are not allowed to be adopted because they have parents (that either can't take care of them or don't want them) so they are not eligible in the governments eyes to be adopted into homes. Please pray for these children that they will not feel unwanted and unloved, but instead know that the Lord has them in His arms and loves them more then they can imagine.
After a tasty dinner, we listened to the last lecture given by Pastor Gary and Holly before they leave tomorrow. Their closing statements reminded us to never lose sight of the one true King, no matter what life may throw at you. I pray that I can be that way! Before they left, everyone laid hands on them for prayer and travel mercies. As people cried and spoke prayers you could feel Christ's love among this group. Truly, I hope and pray that I can be able to show others the love that they showed for one another tonight.
Lots of love,
Hayley
